Is this a tumor?

About halfway across the right side of my face, below my jaw line, under my skin, I feel something under my skin (not popping out, you can only feel it if you press it hard enough) and It's about the size of a hazelnut, and when you push it, it kind of goes aside.

I have no serious medical history, neither do my parents or grandparents. Thank you for your help!
Is this a tumor?
Get to a dermatologist and get it checked out, hon...better safe than sorry!
Is this a tumor?
If there isn't one on the other side in the same place, get it checked out. It could be a cyst, too.
Reply:no i have those things also thats not a tumor its just a jaw muscle.
Reply:No, I have had several tumors. Doesnt sound like one. Go to a doctor though!
Reply:girl its probbably just like one of those bones you could press and it would move dont worry about it =)

you have a guardian angel!!
Reply:Did you maybe swallow a hazelnut?
Reply:It could be a cyst or an inflamed saliva gland- they are both really common-

I would get it checked out with your doctor though- just to put any worries to rest
Reply:It may be a lymph node. But you should have a doctor check it out, enlarged lymph nodes are usually a sign of infection somewhere it the body.

And it could be something else, so go see a GP.
Reply:Could be just a cyst. Go to a dermatologist and get it checked out, don't put it off.
Reply:well, i don't think it is, but you might wanna get it checked anyway...it's probably your tonsels or some kinda stuff like that
Reply:I could be wrong but it sounds like you're describing one of the glands in your neck! Go to your doctor if you are very worried. They could be swollen and that is why you're feeling something bulging out a little.
Reply:It sounds like it's a gland, and nothing to worry about%26gt;But you sound worried so get your doctor to make certain.
Reply:It may just be a swollen lymph node... tumors are usually not moveable or salivary gland. If it's painless or continues to grow then I would get it checked out... well you should probably just get it checked out asap. If it's not a tumor then it could be an infection that may need antibiotics... good Luck!
Reply:go to the doctor. it could be. go to a doctor right away. it could be just a swollen lymph node.
Reply:I doubt it is a tumor. It could be a swollen gland. They usually go away in a couple of weeks.
Reply:ok, so, you found a lump, best person to see is your doc............

I have "at the moment '' 5 lumps, in various places, and it very much depends on your age, sex, and habits................

what you suggest sounds like a swollen gland, an is most likely that, considering what you have said family wise..........i have grissle........like what you'd find in beef etc, its not uncommon in humans.......

pain is a factor tho, you got pain see ur doc, if no pain and you, like me are getting on a bit, your getting towards being a tough bird to cook........but calm down, and go see ur doc.......
Reply:It may be some muscle node, but always get a check. Cant put your life in the hands of a Yahoo forum....
Reply:It's probably a lymph node . . there are tons of them in the body. Sometimes when you are fighting an infection the lymph nodes will swell up.

However, if you feel this is unusual than you should see a doctor for a clinical examination.

Incidentally, people who are perfectly healthy with no prior medical condition . . can get cancer . . history or no history.

My son was a healthy, athletic high school student . . never sick . .played sports, worked weekends, attended school . .perfectly normal and he was diagnosed suddenly with stage IV abdominal cancer. No visible warning (he did tell me a few weeks before diagnosis that he felt a lump in his belly . . but who would think a healthy teenage boy would have cancer?) The point is . . that if it can happen to my son who was also healthy with no serious medical history . . and healthy parents . . it could happen to anyone.
Reply:Probably not, but why don't you get it checked by a doctor? That is the safest thing to do than potentially let something get much worse and harder to deal with.
Reply:no it is not a tumor. usually if your body is fighting off a cold or infection, your glands will swell up. they dont have to be painful (unless you push hard on them) it is a lymph node. you do not have to show symptoms of a cold or infection to have these swell up. i would still get it checked out so that you can be given antibiotics to kill any oncoming infections.
Reply:It could be or a cysts, call your doctor so he can do a biopsy
