I can't tell what this thing above/on my lip is:(?

okay, i've never had a cold sore before, but both my parents get them time to time, so..this 'thing' popped up above/right on my upper lip a few days ago. it hurts pretty bad when i smile. it looks like 3 or so under the skin whiteheads sort of combined. since it could be a 'cluster' i started freaking out, thinking it was a cold sore. i put carmex on it yesterday and when i washed my face at night, one of the under the skin white head looking things had come to a head and popped when i patted my face dry. it's now a scab but there are still more whitehead looking thing. the puss from the popped one was whiteish, could it still be a cold sore? i just really want to know whether i should treat this as a cold sore or a horrible pimple. heeelp me pleaseee:(

Well sometimes lips just get weird looking pimples that pop up anytime...you can be lip-pimple-free one day %26amp; the next hour it pops up...just wash your face regularly and don't pay it any attention...don't try to pop is because it will only get germs on it..Good luck!

its a cold sore, get some medication cream stuff 2 help it makes it go away faster %26amp; stop hurting =]

Reply:A Cold Sore would not pop and Puss come out like it did. It sounds like a Bad Pimple and Yes they do need to be popped or drained so they can heal properly. The Scab is the healing Process. Keep it clean and rub Neosporin in it. This should cause the White Heads to Pop and Heal.
Reply:Since there is a scab and you haven't done anything to cause a scab - like picking at it, it's probably a cold sore. Also, a cold sore will be more painful than a pimple and will last 10 days to two weeks. If you have acne, then there's a possibility it's a pimple. But, to me, it sounds exactly like a cold sore. Valtrex is the best medicine to prevent or shorten the duration of outbreaks of cold sores.
