I've used pretty much everything and still get pimples. I wash my face twice a day with the Oxy pads and the Clean and Clear astringent. I'm still getting them and I don't have very oily skin. I'm getting these weird pimples you could say under my chin area. They are basically whiteness under my skin and if you put pressure on them white stuff comes out. You can't see them unless your very close, what are they? It's like a pimple but under my skin. What are some household items I can use to make my skin on my face look better, and not dry. And what are some household items I can use to to reduce the swelling on them and hopefully get rid of them. Thank you

Help with acne and oily face?
I never used to get bad acne, just an oocasional spot here and there. Plus, my skin was always shine free until recently. The oil is causing me cystic acne UNDER my skin, which are these huge lumps that form when oil clogs your pore so much that the pore ruptures so the skin forms a cyst to prevent the infection from going further into the skin. I get bad breakouts under neath my nose, on my chin, and my forehead. It seems whenever I finally get rid of one breakout and think I'm in the clear, antoher one pops up, usually right before an important event. I use Proactiv face wash, toner, and lotion twice a day, plus sometimes the salicylic acid cleanser. I use the 6% benzoyl peroxide gel on spots when needed, and wear the refining mask at night. Why specifically under my nose? How do I banish my oily face? Please help me!

ps if you DO go to a dermatologist usually the first time using the stuff they give you will dry out your skin a LOT...just mousturize a lot and stick with it...after two weeks or so the dry skin and peeling should stop and after another two weeks you'll see improvement...going to a dermatologist is NOT a "quick fix" but it will correct the problem and keep it that way

Hey...im in 8th grade, i got to an all girls school but we have a "brother", all guys school that we have events with and dances with but, guys NEVER like me...!
Im a very light skinned Black girl, thin, 5'5, and i've been told im pretty but thats beside the point
guys NEVER dance with me and I think its because im black and i live in a predominantly white neighborhood but all my friends say its because im tall. I feel REALLY left out at school because i never get invited places to hang out and guys only like short girls

I think it's probably that you don't put yourself out there, I had the same problem and I realized that guys aren't attracted to beauty alone, just talk to them. I mean, seriously, imagine walking up to a guy that you've never talked to before and saying 'you wanna dance?' You've got to see it from their point of view, just starting making some guy friends.

Pubic Lump/Pimple?
Hello, Im a 16 year old male. I found a lump by scratching about 2 month ago, it got bigger and red and I popped it, it got smaller and didnt see nothing looked normal. I fel out of curisoity and I felt a small bump on my skin, Ive checked to see if its under the skin, but it deffinatly moves with the skin, all i can feel under the skin is them movable lumpy things!, right and if i play with it and keep feeling it goes away, but if i leave it alone it comes back, where i popped it before theres a kind of pimple, i try to pop it but nothing happens, maybe its deep inside?
So its on the skin not under.
Im not sure what it could be, maybe a hair follicle or just a pimple?

For several months now, I'v been waking up with Sores on my right Hip area and down on the right side of my Thigh.
Yes. I sleep on my (Right Side) all night long. And Yes. I have tried many times sleeping on my Left side, my Back....even trying to sleep on my Stomach. I just can't. I can Not seem to sleep on those other positions. Only my Right side...for the past 20 yrs at least.
As soon as I tell people about my 'Bed Sores', they automatically think of Visible Sores on the skin.
No. My Sores on my right side are "Invisible". The Sorenesses are 'Under the Skin' so to speak. Even I can't see them. No Redness. I would have to peel back the Skin several layers to even see any Redness. Of course Im not gonna do that. LOL
*But seriously, can a person eventually get 'Under-the-Skin' SKIN CANCER if a person constantly gets Under the Skin 'Bed Sores' day after day, week after week, month after month ???*

You don't have "bed sores" because those always break the skin. I also wake up a little sore in the AM if I sleep on one side all night. But after I get up and walk around a bit, it goes away. I have foam on top of my mattress, then the mattress pad and on top of that a 3" "feather bed" that is actually made of a synthetic fiber-fill. It's helped so much.

Spa Facials?
I am going to a spa in August. I don't have really bad Acne and I go to the dermatoligist and I have topical prescription medicine, but I do have slightly sensitive skin. Burned top of my hand by my thumb?
i had a blister but it popped and the skin from the blister laid down on top of the blister , the skin slides around and i got peroxide under it and it started bubbling under the layer on skin so i pushed out the peroxide.. ive been putting neosproin on it and clean it .. is it okay that the peroxide did that under the skin .. there a piece of skin missing that come of when it popped but the rest just stayed there what should i do , is it to leave the skin there and is okay if the peroxide gets under there ?

It is ok to leave the skin, for now.
Make sure you have taken off any jewelry...rings, etc.
Wash your hands with soap and water.
Be sure that you've run plenty of cool water over the burn, this will cool it off and flush out the peroxide. Peroxide isn't usually recommended for burns, but since it's done just flush your burn with water very well.
The loose skin should be left alone, it will help cushion the burn and will come off on it's own. If it's irritating in any way then you should have a Doctor or Nurse Practicioner look at it.
Let your burn air dry for about 15 minutes after you've rinsed it with water and then, you can either cover the burn with a non-stick gauze pad (like a Telfa pad) or use a regular gauze pad or bandaid and a little antibiotic ointment (like Neosporin)(don't use i you are allergic to the antibiotic, read the label), apply the bandage very loosely. Be sure to change the bandage any time it becomes wet or dirty....at least once a day. There is another ointment that works very well for burns, but you need a prescription to get it.
Keep your hand elevated as much as possible to help reduce swelling.
You might want to take a non-prescription pain reliever (unless you are allergic, or have other reasons you shouldn't).
You should see a Doctor if there is swelling of your hand, if pain isn't eased by elevation and pain meds, if you note signs of infection like swelling-warmth-drainage that isn't clear, or if the burn is larger than a couple inches (since this burn is on your hand you may want to have it looked at anyway).
I hope your burn heals quickly. Most times, small burns heal with just a little care.

Secondly I would not recommend cutting off or removing any dead skin or part of the blister, as this functions to protect the burn while it is healing.
Next I would wash my hand/thumb really well with antibacterial soap and water, then dry it off with a clean towel.
Lastly I would place a dry sterile dressing over the burn, then leave it alone, only messing with it once a day to change the dressing.
After the burn has healed to the point where it is no longer oozing fluid, and is dry, I would remove the bandage permanently to allow lots of fresh air to get to it.

PS Don't put any burn creames, aloe etc on there! Just let your body do what it does best, "Heal Itself!"

How do I cover my dark circles under my eyes?
I am olive skinned and have had dark circles all of my life. It is depressing because I have spent thousands of dollars (over my lifetime) trying to cover, hide or camoulflage. Nothing works great. And usuallly if it does work, the makeup is so thick that it is uncomfortable. Please I would love to hear from someone who has the same problem and has solved it.

Actually i didn't have the same problem but my job has to do with that and i've helped many people with my products with that.
Besides my produts, you have to take care a few things.
There is a possibility that you have constipation. Try eating fiber foods, like fruits and vegitables that will help you with that(if you do have constipation)
Another think you can do, is drink a lot of water. At least 8-10 glasses of water every day. I think with just two those things you can see results in the first 2 weeks.

Actually i didn't have the same problem but my job has to do with that and i've helped many people with my products with that.
Besides my produts, you have to take care a few things.
There is a possibility that you have constipation. Try eating fiber foods, like fruits and vegitables that will help you with that(if you do have constipation)
Another think you can do, is drink a lot of water. At least 8-10 glasses of water every day. I think with just two those things you can see results in the first 2 weeks.

I'm really fair skinned %26amp; have dark, and i mean DARK circles beneath my eyes. All the time not just when i'm tired. Does anyone know of ways to get rid of them. Even trying to hide them with makeup is difficult.

If you would like to apply home remedies to reduce dark circles, here are some of my suggestions:
Buy a box of regular, old fashioned unflavored gelatin (e.g. Knox) from grocery store. Take a small cup or bowl and put in 1 teaspoon of the gelatin mix. Add one tablespoon of boiling water %26amp; stir for a minute. Test it on your wrist to make sure it is not too hot. Then, using a cotton ball, pat it under your eyes as you would an eye cream or gel. Go lie down and listen to some music, or take a bath %26amp; let it stay on for at least 30 minutes. Then just rinse it off.Gelatin is very high in Vitamin K %26amp; Biotin. I am not sure but I heard someone tell me that a Dr. can tell lots of things by looking at your fingernails ..That is why you can't have fingernail polish on for operations etc.. What does it mean if you don't even have any of those except on your thumbs..I mean those white cresant shape things by your finger nails...or do they mean just the color skin under the nails?

Well the white 1/2 moon things on your nails actually do serve as a purpose. They let you know if you are intaking enough calcium. If you do not have strong present 1/2 moons, then you need to drink more milk.

I used neutrogena build a tan on my face yesterday and now the skin under my eyes and around my mouth is red. It's attrocious. Why did this happen, is there anything I can do to fix it, and how long will it take to go back to normal?

Neutrogena probably moisturized your skin and made it slightly more susceptible to burning. It sounds like you have a light sunburn.
The areas you're describing (just under the eyes, around the lips) are regions of particularly sensitive skin. It is easy to damage that skin - and that's likely what happened.
As to how long it will take to return to normal - my guess is that it will be gone within a week (especially if it is just a light burn).
Aloe should help. Treat the reddened skin as you would any other sunburn. A little moisturizer, some aloe, and keeping it out of direct sunlight as much as possible, and you should be good as new very quickly.
If, for any reason, the redness is NOT gone or reduced within a week - or if it gets worse in any way - you should definitely consult a physician, to ensure that it is not something more serious. I doubt this, however. :)

I have my tongue pierced and I pretty much had the same problem you did!! It is called your tongue web. I could still stick my tongue out though. Either they will pierce it up towards the tip more, or they will pierce it so that it goes right through the end of the web, which is what they did to me. I am not going to lie, my tongue web was definitely sore for a few days after, but that was the only part that hurt and it went away relatively quickly. It is like the tip of your tongue web moves back so there is room for the barbell. I have had my tongue pierced for 4 years and I love it!! I would do it again in a heartbeat. Let these people call you crazy for wanting to get it done, but it is personal preference, just like tattoos. If you want to get it done then do it!! It can always come out, and the hole will close, which is why I think piercings are smarter than tattoos. I did not even feel the needle go through because its so sharp, and it was swollen a little bit, but I ate regular food right away. Trust me it is easier. When you eat mush, you have to use your tongue to move it to the back of your mouth, making it more sore. At least when you eat regular foods you can break it off and stick it in your back teeth and chew. It swelled only for a few hours, and I was fine to go to work that day after getting it done. I have no problems with my speech, and had no problems. I keep the extra long one that they pierced me with in my mouth because I like to play with it so much. I have never had to take it out when I went to the dentist and I have had 3 teeth extracted, my teeth cleaned, and I have had x-rays. If you get it done, just make sure you rinse with the mouthwash they recommend, and they should sell it right there where you get it done! Your mouth heals fast, so it is only sore for a few days, but it never HURTS. Good luck, if you get it done, I hope you enjoy it!!

It's called a Frenectomy. I was really worried, and I went to YouTube and watched videos. DON'T do that, it terrified me.
But once you get into the dentist office, it's not all that bad. The dentist SHOULD explain everything that they'll be doing to calm you down. My dentist first came in, and put some novacane onto a lonh q-tip. She did that a couple of times. She then left the room to go get more supplies and to give me some more time to become numbed. When she came in, I was completely numb, and she gave me some more novacane but with a needle I think, or this laser way of giving me novacane.
I didn't feel any pain. It didn't hurt at all. She used a scapel and someway, just slowly scraped off that muscle. After that she cleaned up the blood that was left. and she gave me about five stiches that dissolve. I couldn't feel them at all either.
Right now, I can feel the stiches, but it doesn't hurt either. Just if I accidentally bump the front of my mouth it's a little bit sore.

Its not a bruise. Its purple %26amp; redish looking. Feels like it is attached to the thumb bone.Has gotten bigger to its current size over the past 12 months. Does anyone have any experience with a diagnosis from the vet of "granduloma" - a skin disease...?
Our cat is about 11 mos old, a stray found in December. She had a bad cut or bite on her neck. A trip to the vet with two courses of antibiotics did nothing. The "cut" apparently itched horribly and the cat did nothing but scratch it. The "cut" healed but seemed to move from under her neck, heal there and steadily moved up around her neck until it landed on the back of her neck. The vet biopsied it, negative, cortisone injections are the only thing which seems to be working to keep her from itching it. However we are really worried about the cortisone because she is so young and it affects her horribly (lethargic, huge appetite, no response to do anything, seems depressed). The vet wants to do shots THIS TIME now, two weeks again and then again two weeks from there. I don't know if she can take it. This GRANULOMA I'm told is not curable and can follow her her entire life - any help? I cannot picture putting this poor kittie cat through this anymore. Thanks!

Reply:It is never easy when a pet you love has a chronic disease. I have found, though, that they adjust to treatment. When my cat first started having seizures, trying to get phenobarbital in him was an experience I can't even being to describe; however, 6-1/2 years later, I'm a pro at pilling a cat and he is very tolerant. He also adjusted to his medication; in the beginning, he was lethargic, just laid around and barely moved, but very soon he got use to it and now its like a vitamin pill.
She might not need the shots forever, try to help her through it. The experience can be very bonding between you and an animal you save.

It is extreamly itchy, it starts as little itchy bumps, than when i scratch them, they ooze a clear fluid. The skin than seems to dry out and the itch re-occurs a short distance away. The rash is solely limited to my hands. The doctor gave me a cortizone cream but it only seems to work temporarily. We have also ruled out any sort of parasitic presence. Ive had those same circles under my eyes all my life. I have researched it and many say that is in genetics. Do you also have these same circles? Some say its a lack of sleep although I get enough. I beleive the leading cause of dark circles is heredity. Fatigue and lack of sleep make your skin look paler, which makes all discolorations more noticeable. Ive had those same circles under my eyes all my life. I have researched it and many say that is in genetics. Do you also have these same circles? Some say its a lack of sleep although I get enough. I beleive the leading cause of dark circles is heredity. Fatigue and lack of sleep make your skin look paler, which makes all discolorations more noticeable. Sometimes dark circles are a sign of allergies which I also have. I would ask the doctor so you can feel better.

told me that is a sign of allergies. I have an appointment set up for a allergy test. It can't hurt to see if that is the problem.
I have a dog bite on my right hand, the fatty pad under my pinky finger. Should I go to the doctor?
The skin's pierced on the pad, and the dog didn't let go quickly. My pinky and ring fingers ache, but I don't think any bones are broken. Both sides of my palm are bruised, and the pad (pinky) is really swollen. I've cleaned the wound several times with soap/water and H2O2, but I'm not sure what to do from here on out.

If the dog broke the skin, the first thing you should be worried about is infection. Is the dog current on the rabies vaccination? It would be in your best interest to see a doctor and get some antibiotics. If you can't to that, then do this:
1. Soak the hand in a solution of 1 tsp. salt to 1 qt. of water. Soak for 10 minutes at least twice a day.
2. Dry thoroughly and apply neosporin ointment after each soak. Leave the wound open to the air unless it is draining.
3. Watch for signs of infection. An infected wound will be very red, very sore, more swollen, and may drain pus or liquid. If you have any signs of an infection, you need to get antibiotics.
Also, are you up to date on your tetanus shot?

Definitely see the doctor to prevent/treat infection. There's also the danger of rabies. If you aren't sure that the animal is current on its rabies vaccines or the animal was acting strange at all, then you should consider being vaccinated yourself.

If the bite is less than 24 hours old, then you're probably OK to wait either way, but if pink or swelling spreads after 24 hours instead of going down, you should go to your dr or an ER..
And a side note: H2O2 is actually NOT recommended for wounds as it dries out the skin and prohibits proper healing.

They also cleaned it out and gave me a tetanus shot. I went to see my doctor the day after and he prescribed antibiotics also. the chances of actually getting an infection from a dog is highly unlikely due to all the healing bacteria in a dogs mouth, thats y its perfectly acceptable to let a dog lick a wound.
i work in a hospital and all the nurses do is stick a plaster on the wound and prescribe an anti-inflammatory for swelling and painkiller for the pain.
just remember a dog bite is alot more healthy than a human bite!!
