Dead cells have nothing to do with the protection of anything. And if they did, how could they protect the epidermis if it lies underneath the dermis?

Reply:D is the answer. It's wrong because the epidermis is on top of the dermis. Don't be thrown off by the first part; the epidermis is made of 25 - 30 layers of dead skin (at least Wiki says so), but the rest of that choice is wrong.





A: true. I'm sure you've experienced sweating before.


B: true. Again, ever been burned or stuck with a needle?


C: yep. Although you shouldn't get too much UV, since that can lead to skin cancer.
Reply:I agree that D is the incorrect answer because the epidermis is sloughed off.
