Step 1

The dog should be standing for easy application. Part the hair at your dog's shoulder blades to expose the skin.

Step 2

Apply product evenly and directly to the skin in three or four spots along the dog's back by squeezing out the tube's contents.(For dogs 20 lbs. or less, apply in one place.)

Step 3

Be sure to empty the entire tube by the end of the application. Your dog's natural movements will help spread K9 Advantix over the skin.

The directions should be on the pack - you put it on the back of the neck - don't spread it.
Reply:The box will have directions on it, or come with an insert. It will even tell you how to apply it-probably just between the shoulders (I use Frontline Plus and you apply it in that one spot). The oils in the skin will help distribute the medicine to the rest of the body.
Reply:the second answer gave you the correct instructions, but if the box doesn't say it's for a 10lb dog, DO NOT USE IT! it's not that there is more, it's that the chemical concentration is higher. If you use the wrong kind of flea control for the dogs size you can kill it. Please check with your vet to make sure you have the right product.
Reply:I've always just pulled the hair apart and placed the liquid on one spot. I've found that it's easier to do if the dog is playing the a small toy or chewing on a treat. When they are entertained they aren't as concerned as to what you are doing to them. Make sure that you have the right product for your small dog. That's key!
