It is ok to leave the skin, for now.

Make sure you have taken off any jewelry...rings, etc.

Wash your hands with soap and water.

Be sure that you've run plenty of cool water over the burn, this will cool it off and flush out the peroxide. Peroxide isn't usually recommended for burns, but since it's done just flush your burn with water very well.

The loose skin should be left alone, it will help cushion the burn and will come off on it's own. If it's irritating in any way then you should have a Doctor or Nurse Practicioner look at it.

Let your burn air dry for about 15 minutes after you've rinsed it with water and then, you can either cover the burn with a non-stick gauze pad (like a Telfa pad) or use a regular gauze pad or bandaid and a little antibiotic ointment (like Neosporin)(don't use i you are allergic to the antibiotic, read the label), apply the bandage very loosely. Be sure to change the bandage any time it becomes wet or dirty....at least once a day. There is another ointment that works very well for burns, but you need a prescription to get it.

Keep your hand elevated as much as possible to help reduce swelling.

You might want to take a non-prescription pain reliever (unless you are allergic, or have other reasons you shouldn't).

You should see a Doctor if there is swelling of your hand, if pain isn't eased by elevation and pain meds, if you note signs of infection like swelling-warmth-drainage that isn't clear, or if the burn is larger than a couple inches (since this burn is on your hand you may want to have it looked at anyway).

I hope your burn heals quickly. Most times, small burns heal with just a little care.

Yeah; its fine. Keep putting the neosporin on once a day or so, if it starts getting gross looking or pus filled, go to a doctor.
Reply:take the skin off and use aloe gel on it.i wouldn't put peroxide on it
Reply:peroxide will burn the skin and leave a big mark just put polysporn cream on it and go to the doctor in a couple of days i also suggest puttign a tea bag on it afetr the teabag has been sittign in your tea for a bit
Reply:just keep it clean and put aloe vera on it and cover it. change it every day. the peroxiod should not hurt it. if it bubbles up that means it is killing infection.
Reply:The Skin May Fall Off But Don't Pull At It So It Won't Get Infected. Use Aloe Vera Gel To Sooth It. Use Vitamin E Oil To Speed Up Healing And Prevent Scarring. You Can Use Vitamin E Capsules, Burst The Capsule And Use The Oil.
Reply:First off I would stop putting peroxide on it. Peroxide is a debreding agent, meaning its purpose it to use it right after an injury to remove dirt and other contaminates that can cause infection. If you continue using it it actually hinders the healing process by killing everything on.in the wound, including white blood cells and other immunity cells. It can also destroy the new tissue that is forming to replace the damaged tissue.

Secondly I would not recommend cutting off or removing any dead skin or part of the blister, as this functions to protect the burn while it is healing.

Next I would wash my hand/thumb really well with antibacterial soap and water, then dry it off with a clean towel.

Lastly I would place a dry sterile dressing over the burn, then leave it alone, only messing with it once a day to change the dressing.

After the burn has healed to the point where it is no longer oozing fluid, and is dry, I would remove the bandage permanently to allow lots of fresh air to get to it.

Hope it feels better soon!

PS Don't put any burn creames, aloe etc on there! Just let your body do what it does best, "Heal Itself!"
Reply:Put nothing but cold water on a burn for the first 20 minutes. Leave the broken skin on as it protects from infection. If it is a large deep burn see your doctor because it it gets infected it will cause you grief for a while. Once it is cool you should use a sterile non stick pad and tape to hold it there.
Reply:Put a bandaide on it during the day and let it air out at night. You also can buy some liquid bandage, it will sting some but to me it worth it. Beside you dont have to worry about it coming off or getting wet.
