Daily shaving makes her skin sore.
Why is my female friend growing whiskers under her chin at age 54? Would you recommend electrolysis?
Females do have a tendency to grow facial hair on the top lip and on the chin at that age. If she does not have it removed by electrolysis or lazer treatment, she should pluck the hair with tweezers. Only pluck the whiskers. If she plucks normal facial hair, it will make them grow back more noticeable. Shaving has to be repeated daily and can irritate the skin. Nair can only be used periodically and hair would grow back before it could be used again.
Electrolysis is very time consuming but costs a lot less than lazer treatments. With either one, repeat visits must be made to obtain optimal results.

That or the circus...
Reply:Electroysis is slow and painful. Laser treatments would be much better. Or she can just use Nair.
Reply:Shaving? She shouldn't shave. Chin hairs are pretty common in women when they get older. I actually have one and it's like wire. LOL I never let it get very far before I puck that little booger out. Heck no...no one is going to see that!
Reply:I would recommend threading ( very effective)
Reply:It depends on how much hair she has . . . but it's cause by hormone levels so if it's excessive she could see her doctor . . . otherwise plucking for a few hairs or waxing would work.
Reply:She's probably going through menopause and her estrogen levels are depleting. I'm going through the same thing. I wax because plucking one hair at a time hurts too much, cream hair removers don't last much longer than shaving and can burn the skin and everything else is too expensive.
Reply:Lots of women begin to grow facial hair after a certain age. It can ge hereditary and also can be caused by hormonal changes as one gets older. Shaving tends to bring back more hair. With electrolysis, the hair can come back. Laser may be the only option for permanent removal. Just know you may have redness on your face for a while with laser.
