Why do some NCAA players wear t-shirts under their jersys?

is this a fashion thing, or are they afraid of showing their skin/armpits
Why do some NCAA players wear t-shirts under their jersys?
I'm in high school and I wear "A" shirts under my jersey when I play.

It's not a fashion thing as much as it is a comfort thing.

I like the tight feel of it, and it helps absorb a LOT of sweat so my jersey isn't as sweaty (not to mention smelly) as other people's jerseys are.

i think its so the sweat wont ruin their jerseys, im not too sure
Reply:i think their scared, i dont wear one, cuz its just added wind when running
Reply:they just want to
Reply:Idk-but it pretty much always looks retarded.....Guys clash colors and dont match the colors they try to match-

Example:

DJ White-Maroon on Maroon

Ron Lewis-Tries to match greys but doesnt work

But Idc.....b/c its about their ballin' ability...not fashion sense-just so happens I have a lot of both =] But Im a girl too-So...HaHa!
Reply:i would say mostly for the look but also sometimes can get cold out there with jus a jersey on
Reply:Its comfort or its a habit. some people have sensitive skin and the jersey irritates them so they wear a t-shirt under it.
Reply:I dont think any of us are qualified to answer this except for the guy who plays basketball in high school, because only the players would know why they would decide to wear one.
Reply:I think it's because they don't have very toned arms like the rest of their teammates...there has to be a good reason. Soak a t-shirt in a water and try to shoot hoops. It's not the most comfortable thing in the world. They could also have backne.
Reply:Its their choice. I would, only because I have a little bit of fat in my chest area.
