Splinters!?

I got a splinter in my finger about a month ago and i was told that the skin would push it out but it hasn't and it is still stuck under the skin! it doesn't hurt or anything i can just see it under the skin! i also got a splinter i think when i was a child in my palm and now i have this black thing under my skin and it has been there for 15 years! would this be causing me harm?
Splinters!?
It depends on how big the splinter is and whether or not it hurts. If it bothers you, then definitely remove it yourself. If it doesn't then don't bother with it. The resulting spot under your skin isn't dangerous.

Also depends on what the splinter is made from. If it's glass then you should probably have it removed. A pair of tweezers should do the trick. If you feel queasy about it, your doctor should be able to help you out.
Splinters!?
YOU SHOULD GO TO THE DOCTOR AND HAVE IT TAKEN OUT AND THE RECENT ONE JUST USE FINGER NAIL CLIPPERS TO GET IT OUT
Reply:you should be able to soak your finger in warm water until the skin gets really soft and then it will be easy and not hurt so much to get it out with a needle and then soak it in hydrogen peroxide so it dont get infected-i dont think a splinter would have stayed in your palm for 15 yrs though-
Reply:I'll answer this question just as I answered the last splinter one... My granny used a long needle acohol and that was it...My granny would wash my hands...then massage the place were the splinter was, then she would pour acochol over it and then she would stick the needle in the part were the splinter's edge was..Now the needle was sterilized....So she would use the needle to push the splinter up and out of the skin...

This wasn't easy at all because splinters are very tiny and are deep in the skin...but after sitting for about 15-20 minutes which was well worth it the small piece of wood or steel or whatever was out and I was in pain a bit but fine after that....

I think the black thing could possibly be a pack of old blood that was never let out... I don't think it will hurt you if it hasn't done anything thus far... now that splinter I think you could get a needle and take care of it...since you aren't feeling any pain from it....hope it helps...
Reply:no it won't do a thing
Reply:I'm not sure about the one that has supposidly been in there for fifteen years, but this is how my grandma said to get rid of splinters: Soak a piece of bread (or another absorband material) in water as hot as you can stand it. Put the bread over the area where the splinter is lodged and wrap cloth or tape around the bread so its really tight against your skin. Once the bread has been on your hand for a long while (ten-twenty minutes) remove. The bread will have sucked out the splinter! It works!
