What kind of acne is this?

My problem is quite personal, so please, spare me the hurtful comments/sarcasms. I have this small bump (about 1/4th of an inch in diameter) on the side of my face. When it first appeared, it felt like a little bubble underneath my skin. It stayed like that for a good month and never went away, so I decided to use a clean pin and poke into the skin. What came out was this white-ish yellow liquid that I gently squeezed out (eventually, oily-looking blood started to come out so I stopped). Now, about 2 months later, I can still feel the bubble under my skin when I touch my face only now, the surface of my skin is dark where the bubble is located. I have to keep squeezing out the white-ish liquid from it every couple weeks since the bubble keeps returning. Can anyone tell me what this is, so I can do more research on it and hopefully find a cure before my skin becomes irreversibly scarred? I appreciate your help!

its probably a cyst or it could be a boil. either way you should see a dermatologist. you should not pick at it at ALL or you'll damge your skin further.

i had a friend have something like that it ended up being a cist she had to have removed
Reply:that sounds like a cyst or a boil. You should go see your doctor to have it looked at, they can drain it and get rid of it. Don't mess with it anymore though, because it will scar
Reply:Very sorry - you are not alone. I had a friend who had this. There is something called "cystic acne" - she has had to have a lot of those surgically removed.

There is also the possibility that it is a sebacious cyst - a malfunctioning oil glad if you will, and it might be infected.

Go to the MD, have it lanced and cultured to make certain you do not have a staph (the most common) infection. Then get it removed.
Reply:it sounds like cystic acne my cousin had it really bad you need to see a dermatologist cuz it is a infection under the skin that spreads
Reply:Stop touching it and see a dermotologist ASAP
Reply:I've had similar problems. It sounds like cystic acne, I think. I do know of a way to handle it. You should make an appointment with a dermatologist for a cortisone injection. They can inject cortisone into the bump and that will take care of it within a day. I've had acne cysts much bigger than yours and a cortisone injection always cures it.
Reply:This is called a boil, which usually forms beneath an infected hair follicle. If this is that type of infection, go to your dermetologist and find something to fight it. or, if its something else, he will be able to tell you about it.

I had a similar problem, where a large hard blackhead was sitting on my nose for three years. I used one of those acne strips, which made it easier to pop. After popping it I let the rest slowly get out gradually rather than attempting to obliterate the blackhead all at once. I had a scar for about two weeks, but my nose is fine now. People don't go up to me and try to pop my blackhead anymore.
Reply:Sounds like a sebaceous cyst. A doctor should cut it out. Since it is on your face, a family doctor may want to send you to a dermatologist.
Reply:It sounds like a staph 'eruption'. If so you need some antibiotics. The staph germ is in your system and the 'eruption' will just keep coming back until the germ is eliminated. Then if you take the herb NEEM, which can be purchased online, it will prevent a return of this problem.

When you squeeze it out you can spread it to other parts of your body or face. If it pops clean the area with alcohol and wash your hands really well.
Reply:I do not believe it is acne because you described an isolated/ specific area of your skin. You also described one reoccurring bump. I would definately think it is more of like a cyst or a small growth that needs to be removed. Instead of home remedies, I would advise you to see a specialist, especially since you dont want any permanent scarring.
Reply:It might be a boil you should see a dermatologist and that should help sorry this happened to you! Oh and try to wash your face with some acne wash like clean and clear! that should help! Oh and the reason why the area is dark is when the skin is irritated it forms a dark spot! my dermatologist told me! Hope your OK! Take care stay beautiful!

Reply:If you鈥檙e looking for accurate acne information, best to see a dermatologist. Some people believe doctors are predisposed to take the easy way to deal with acne鈥?prescription drugs. But, with many, this simplistic answer may not be the appropriate course of action. Some feel that such prescription drugs just treat the symposium and not the underlying cause. But, a local dermatologist is still your best starting point.

For me personally, I discovered a great informational acne treatment site. Not only is there good information/articles but I got their audio e-book and following it鈥檚 advice can now say that my acne is a thing of the past! Keep in mind, were all different and there are various types of acne, so what works for some may not be totally effective for all.

Bottom line, hang in there, you will get past this! Sincere best wishes and good luck.

Oh, by the way the site that helped me is:
